2. What This Policy Covers
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use this website or submit a business finance enquiry, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. It applies to individuals who contact us on behalf of a business — for example a director, owner or authorised representative.
3. What Information We Collect
We only collect data that you provide to us directly. We do not buy in, rent, or enrich personal data from third-party data suppliers or cold-contact lists.
When you submit an enquiry or contact us, we may collect:
- Your name and your job role or position in the business
- Your business email address and telephone number
- The name of your business and its company registration number
- Information about the business's finance requirements (for example the type and amount of funding sought, turnover, or invoice values)
- Any other information you choose to include in your enquiry
When you use this website, we may also automatically collect technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and how you use the site, through cookies and similar technologies (see section 9).
We do not intentionally collect special category data (such as health or ethnicity). Please do not include such information in your enquiries.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide for the following purposes and rely on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR:
| Purpose | Data used | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| To respond to and process your finance enquiry, including contacting you to discuss your requirements | Contact, business and enquiry details | Consent, and/or our legitimate interests in operating our introducer service |
| To introduce you to finance providers who may be able to meet your requirements | Contact, business and enquiry details | Consent |
| To contact you with relevant information about finance products and our services (marketing), where you have agreed | Contact details | Consent (in compliance with PECR) |
| To operate, maintain and improve this website and keep records | Technical and usage data | Legitimate interests |
| To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations | All data as required | Legal obligation |
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time (see section 5). Withdrawing consent does not affect any processing carried out before withdrawal.
5. Who We Share Your Information With
When you submit an enquiry, we introduce you to one or more third-party commercial finance providers or brokers who may be able to meet your requirements. These providers are separate data controllers. Once your data is passed to them, they process it under their own privacy policies and are responsible for their own handling of your data.
We may also share your information with:
- Service providers acting on our behalf (data processors) such as our website hosting, CRM, email and telephony providers — these act only on our instructions and under contract
- Professional advisers, regulators or authorities where we are required to do so by law
- A successor entity in the event of a sale, merger, or restructuring of our business
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with unrelated third parties for their own marketing purposes.
6. International Transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place — such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement (or addendum) — so your data receives an equivalent level of protection.
7. Your Rights
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal obligations)
- Object to or restrict the processing of your data
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured format
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent
- Object to direct marketing at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@muvefinance.com. We will respond within one month.
8. Marketing Communications
Where you have agreed, you may receive communications from Muve Finance about finance products and our services. We send these in compliance with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
Opting out: You can stop receiving marketing communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, replying STOP to any text message, or contacting us at privacy@muvefinance.com.
9. Cookies
This website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, to understand how it is used, and (with your consent) for analytics and advertising measurement. You can control non-essential cookies through our cookie banner and through your browser settings.
10. Data Retention
We keep your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes set out above:
Enquiry and lead data
Retained for up to 24 months from last contact, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
Records required for legal or accounting reasons
Retained for the period required by law.
After these periods we securely delete or anonymise your data.
